Event overview
The 2026 President’s Day race at Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax Station, VA, offers three distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- 10 Miler
Points from the event count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, Back of the Pack, and Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt, and chip timing. The 10-Miler has a completion time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes.
Course and logistics
All three routes are out-and-back forest trails through the woods. The 5k is one out-and-back; the 10k and 10-Miler use two out-and-backs. The course includes hills and is described as technical; elevation gain is shown on the course map. Water stations are provided as follows: seven on the 10-Miler, three on the 10k, and one on the 5k, with Gatorade at some stations. Portajohns will be located near the parking lot. Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the event to check in. Race day registration is offered, though T-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for same-day registrants.
Fees, results and awards
Early registration fees (until January 31) are: 5k $30, 10k $45, 10-Miler $65; fees increase after that date and rise by $5 on race morning. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and via a race-day QR code; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in multiple age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
