Presidential 5K
The Presidential 5K is an inaugural timed 5K event held at Florida International University to mark America's 250th anniversary. The race is presented as a community event that brings together students, families, alumni, faculty, staff, and local community members on February 14, 2026.
The event includes patriotic festivities, music, and post-race activities. It is a timed race and all race bibs include a timing chip. Pre-registered 5K participants are eligible to receive an event t shirt while supplies last.
Net proceeds, after payment of associated expenses, may be used to support the FIU SOAR Initiative through the FIU Foundation, Inc. The event operates on a no refund policy and is planned to proceed rain or shine. Additional logistical details such as parking and packet pickup will be sent to the email used in registration.
Requests for ADA accommodation or accessible materials should be submitted to FIU’s Office of Civil Rights Compliance and Accessibility (CRCA) at least seven business days prior to the event or as early as possible. The event organizer is the FIU Foundation, Inc., and the venue is Florida International University – Felsberg Veteran Plaza in Miami, Florida.
