Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail Challenge

The Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail Challenge is a trail race along the crushed-stone rail trail linking St. Eugene and Hammond. The route is mostly flat and passes open farmland, shaded woodlots, and small-town settings along the historic corridor.

The event offers out-and-back distances as follows:

  • 12 km
  • 25 km
  • 50 km
  • 50 miles
  • 100 km

Aid stations appear approximately every 4 to 8 km and provide water, electrolytes, and a variety of snacks. The trail has minimal technical sections, permitting sustained running paces or an introduction to ultra-distance racing. The 50-mile and 100-km options are available solo or as relays. Registration fees follow early-bird, regular, and late tiers; upgrades are allowed for a fee, and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Event services include race kit pickup and late registration the day before, a downloadable participants guide, post-race meals, and awards for top male and female finishers in each distance. The race is organized by the local run club with support from community partners and trail management. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
