Power Mile Road Race
The Power Mile Road Race takes place at West End Point in New Orleans, Louisiana. The main competition is a single one mile out and back that starts from the end of West End Point. The course is described as flat and suited to spectators, with views along Lake Pontchartrain and food and beverage options available after the races.
The event program includes multiple runs:
- The Power Mile: 1 mile out and back
- Half Mile Youth Race: 0.5 mile for ages 12 and under
- Beer Mile Relay: 1 mile relay with teams of four
Past editions have raised more than $20,000 for charity over three years. Typical attendance has exceeded 500 people, counting participants, volunteers, and spectators. Entry fees listed for 2026 are $25 for The Power Mile, $15 for the youth half mile, and $5 for the Beer Mile Relay. Registration windows are provided for each race in 2026.
Additional details for the Beer Mile Relay: teams must register together, each team member chugs a beer and runs a quarter mile, and participants must be 21 years of age or older.
