The Powder Keg Trail Run is part of the Dirt Days Trail Series and takes place on August 22, 2026, at Carter Park in Kings Mills, OH (1720 King Ave). The event offers two choices: a Run and a Walk. Course and event details
The course is a loop of park trails that goes near the Little Miami River, follows an old abandoned King Road, passes an old dam, and includes a steep ascent via a series of steps called the "Stairway to Heaven." The route also covers the north side trails and passes near ball fields before the finish. Timing uses MyLaps disposable bib tags integrated into the bib number.
Amenities and logistics listed by the organizer include ample free parking at the adjacent school (Kings Elementary), no early packet pickup, online registration only, and on-site race day check-in. Registration fee is $23.50 with a $5 discount for ages 14 and under. Short-sleeved Powder Keg T-shirts are available for $12 while supplies last.
