Pound The Pavement is the 14th annual untimed color fun run and walk held on October 4, 2026 in Bangor, Maine at 26 Front Street. The main event is a 5K in which participants start dressed in white and are showered with colored powder at each kilometer mark, finishing covered in color.
The event includes a junior race called Pound The Pavement JUNIOR Mad Dash of Color for children ages 8 and under; junior participants may run, walk, or dash the full course, described in the event materials as 3.1 miles.
Registration fees are listed by category: general entry $40, student entry $30, junior entry $15, and a cancer survivor option with no fee. The first 200 registered participants receive a goodie bag; goodie bags include Visa gift cards placed randomly. Registrants before September 1 receive a complimentary event T shirt.
A post-event gathering is planned at Sea Dog with music, photo opportunities, and community activities. Proceeds benefit the Purple Iris Foundation and support people living in Maine who are dealing with the effects of cancer. The event materials note a specific invitation for cancer survivors to participate free of charge and indicate communication will follow for those who select the survivor option.
