Pound The Pavement 5K Color Fun Run/Walk
Pound The Pavement is a community 5K untimed Color Fun Run/Walk held in Bangor, Maine on October 4, 2026. Participants begin the course wearing white and pass through color stations at each kilometer, finishing covered in colored powder.
The event includes a junior division called Pound The Pavement Junior "Mad Dash of Color" for children ages 8 and under. Junior participants run, walk, or dash the full course of 3.1 miles and experience the same color stations as other participants.
Post-race activities take place at Sea Dog and feature music, photo opportunities, and community gatherings. The event raises funds for the Purple Iris Foundation to support people in Maine who are dealing with the effects of cancer; the foundation provides assistance for individuals affected by all cancers.
Registration options and fees listed for 2026 include general entry at $40, a student rate at $30, a junior rate at $15, and a cancer survivor option with no fee. Cancer survivors are invited to use the survivor registration option to participate free of charge. The first 200 registered participants receive free goodie bags that may include randomly placed Visa gift cards. Registrations completed before September 1 receive a complimentary event T shirt.
