Portland Trail Series
The Portland Trail Series is a low-key evening trail race series held in Forest Park in Portland. Three five-race Series are offered in spring, summer, and fall and run from April through October on Wednesday evenings. Races use different marked courses and the terrain is hilly.
- 4 to 7 miles per race
Runners who complete at least four races in a Series are included in the overall Series standings; top finishers receive prizes from sponsors. The Series benefits the Forest Park Conservancy.
A post-Series party is held after the final race at the Lucky Lab Beer Hall, where Series and age group awards are presented and a raffle takes place. Event organizers note that these are running races and not walking events.
Maps for each route are posted the Monday before each race. One route may be designated a Mystery Route; its distance is announced in advance but the specific trails are not revealed before race day. Single-race drop-in registration is available for a cash fee at each race until capacity is reached. Spring Series pricing for all five races is listed for early and regular registration periods; processing fees, taxes, and add-ons are separate. The Series follows a cancellation policy that offers a 50% credit more than 30 days before a race and no credit within 30 days.
