Portland Street Mile
The Portland Street Mile is a one mile road race held on a closed street circuit in the North Park Blocks. The course completes two laps of the half mile street circuit used by the Portland Criterium. The event takes place on August 15, 2026 in Portland, OR.
Races are organized into an Open Mile and Elite heats. The Open Mile is open to all racers, including those who identify as cis or trans male, cis or trans female, or non-binary; it is intended for racers who anticipate times above 5 minutes 45 seconds. The Elite heats include Women’s, Men’s and Non-Binary categories; guidance for anticipated times is faster than 5:45 for Women’s and Non-Binary Elite fields and faster than 5:00 for the Men’s Elite field. Non-binary racers may self-select which heat to enter.
For Elite heats, scoring and podiums will be handled in three categories: Men’s, Women’s and Non-Binary. The Women’s field is open to racers who identify as women and to those for whom competing in the women’s field is most athletically or socially appropriate. Podium presentation is part of the event and racers must be present at podium ceremonies to collect any prizes.
Organizers include the Portland Criterium and the Rose City Track Club. The organizers affirm the gender identities of participants, support inclusion, and state that behavior violating safety standards or the OBRA code of conduct will not be tolerated.
