Portland Parks 5K Fun Run at Laurelhurst Park
Portland Parks & Recreation organizes an annual 5K Fun Run Series held monthly from May through August at parks around Portland. The Laurelhurst Park event is one date in that series. The series is described as family friendly and welcomes new walkers and runners as well as experienced participants.
Registration is $5 for participants aged 18 and older; participants younger than 18 run for free. Organizers encourage pre-registration and also accept walk-up registrations on the day of the run for cash only. Participants can time themselves using a sports clock and every finisher receives a ribbon.
The event program includes a competitive 5K race and an all participant 5K fun run. There is also a kids fun run option for young children. On-site features include music, children’s activities, raffle prizes, and vendors.
