Portland Parks 5K - Gabriel Park
This event is the Gabriel Park stop in Portland Parks & Recreation's annual 5K Fun Run Series, which takes place monthly from May through August at parks throughout Portland. The Gabriel Park date is listed for August 16.
The event features both a competitive 5K race and an all-participant 5K fun run. There is also a kids fun run offered in shorter distances for children 8 years old and younger. Participants aged 18 and older pay a $5 registration fee; participants younger than 18 run for free. Organizers encourage pre-registration and also accept walk-up registrations on the day of the event for cash only.
On race day participants may time themselves using a sports clock, and every finisher receives a ribbon. The event includes music, kids activities, raffle prizes, and vendors. Check-in and bib pick-up are available on site before the races.
