Portland Parks 5K - Gabriel Park
Portland Parks & Recreation presents an annual 5K Fun Run Series of family friendly 5K races held monthly from May through August at parks across Portland. The Gabriel Park event is scheduled for August 16 as part of the 2026 series.
Entry for participants aged 18 and older carries a $5 registration fee; participants younger than 18 run for free. Organizers strongly encourage pre-registration but accept walk-up registration on the day of the run for cash only. The series supports timed results using a sports clock and awards every finisher a ribbon.
A children’s program runs alongside the main event. The kids fun run is for children 8 years old and younger and offers shorter distances. The event setting typically includes music, children's activities, raffle prizes, and vendors. The series notes welcoming participation from new walkers and runners as well as more experienced racers and aims to celebrate participation and friendly competition.
