About the race

The 1st Annual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K takes place in Portland, Oregon on October 3, 2026. The event is held at Laurelhurst Park, at the NW corner of SE César E. Chávez Blvd. and Stark Street (Picnic Area E), and includes community activities such as local vendors, food, music, a silent auction, and speeches from healthcare professionals.

The event offers two race divisions: an Open division and an Ostomate division, each covering a 5K distance. Registration is available between February 28, 2026 and August 1, 2026; the registration fee is $30. Awards are planned for top finishers in the Male, Female, and Ostomate categories, with specific Ostomate awards noted for the top three finishers.

Fundraising is a structured part of the event. Participants who raise $150 or more may receive a refund of their registration fee. Additional fundraising levels are listed as Empower ($250+) and Champion ($450+), with fundraising awards to be announced. A referral program offers a $20 refund when a participant refers five other registrants. Event registration protection (insurance) is available as an optional purchase at checkout.

Proceeds support the United Ostomy Associations of America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides education, advocacy, and resources for the ostomy and continent diversion community. Donations through the event are tax deductible. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
