Port Sunlight 10K and 5K
The Port Sunlight 10K and 5K take place in Port Sunlight village, a planned village built in 1888 to house factory workers. The route passes local landmarks including the central fountain, the Lady Lever Art Gallery and the Port Sunlight Museum, with the start and finish at Windy Bank. Runners follow a network of village roads with twists and short sections of undulation.
Distances
- 5K: one complete lap of Port Sunlight Village.
- 10K: two laps of the same route.
- 1K Fun Run: short course for children.
Entry benefits include chip timing, a finisher T shirt, a finisher medal and a goody bag. A Dual Race option allows entrants to run both the 5K and 10K with two T shirts, two medals and an additional Dual Entry medal; places are limited.
Practical details on race day include a baggage store, allocated toilets, water stations offering 330 ml screw top bottles, bins after water stations, pacers marked with finish time flags, and medical provision with fixed first aid stations and a recovery area near start and finish. Clothing left at the start is collected for donation unless placed in baggage. MarathonPhotos will take event photographs for purchase.
Age limits apply under the UKA licence: minimum age 11 for the 5K and 15 for the 10K. The 5K is expected to be completed within an hour to avoid delaying the 10K; the 10K has no formal time limit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
