Port Glasgow 10k

The Port Glasgow 10k is a running race organized by Port Glasgow Runners. The event takes place in the historic town of Port Glasgow, situated along the banks of the River Clyde. The course starts and finishes at Coronation Park, located on the former site of the East and West Harbours in the town center.

The route consists of pavements and passes several local landmarks. Participants see the 1815 Town Buildings, the Gourock Rope Works, Kelburn Park, and Newark Castle. The course also features views of the River Clyde and the Shipbuilders of Port Glasgow sculptures, locally referred to as the Skelpies, which are situated near the finishing straight. The event coincides with the Comet Festival weekend.

This competition is held under UK Athletics Rules. Participation is open to individuals aged 15 years and older. The field is limited to a maximum of 300 entries, and registration is conducted online. Voluntary marshals are positioned throughout the course to guide runners, as participants do not have right of way over other road or path users.

The event site at Coronation Park is accessible via nearby train and bus stations, and parking is available in the vicinity.
