2026 Port City Pursuit 5k and 10k
The event is a summer evening run held on July 17 near Port City Brewing in Alexandria, along Holmes Run. It offers two distance options and counts points toward multiple series including the year long 5k and 10k series, the Back of the Pack series, and the Sippin Series. A virtual run option is available for those who cannot attend in person.

Runners receive one glass of beer from Port City Brewing, a finisher medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Packet pickup is available before the event at Road Runner Sports and also at the venue on race day. Restrooms are located in Port City Brewing.
The course is mostly flat and paved with a short light gravel section on the initial out and back. The 10k follows the out and back twice. Water stations are placed along the courses; the 10k has five stations at approximately mile markers 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2 while the 5k has two stations at about mile markers 1 and 2.1. Gatorade is available at some stations.
Awards recognize the top three men and top three women overall, plus first and second place male and female in standard age groups. Top three overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards.
