Event overview
The Point of Rocks event on March 8, 2026 includes 5k, 10k, and Half marathon distances at Point of Rocks, 3700 Commerce St, Point of Rocks, MD 21777 (lat/long 39.274024, -77.538576). The event is chip timed and participants receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (drifit) event shirt. A virtual run option is available. The event partners with the charity Operation Turbo. Registration fees listed are: 5k $30 (rises to $35 after Feb 15), 10k $45 (rises to $50 after Feb 15), Half $65 (rises to $70 after Feb 15); prices increase by $5 on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before Feb 25; extra shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event. There will not be race day registration.
Course and logistics
Each race is an out-and-back on a light gravel dirt path that is basically flat for the entire route. Water stations are limited; organizers list the following approximate locations and supplies:
- Half marathon: 6 stations at about miles 0.6, 3.1, 6.1, 6.9, 10, and 12.5 (some with Gatorade).
- 10k: 3 stations at about miles 0.6, 3.1, and 5.6.
- 5k: 2 stations at about miles 0.6 and 2.5.
Restrooms are located near the parking lot. Live results will be posted on Athlinks, a QR code at the event will provide immediate results, and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race. Awards include top 3 men and women overall and 1st and 2nd place in age groups from 19&Under through 70+; overall top 3 are not eligible for age-group awards.
