2026 Pohick Bay 5k & 10k
This event takes place on October 4 at Pohick Bay Regional Park in Lorton, VA (6501 Pohick Bay Drive). The race offers both a 5 km and a 10 km distance on forest trails that are mostly dirt path with some considerable inclines. The 5 km is an out-and-back course; the 10 km consists of two laps of the 5 km route.

Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are placed along the 10 km course at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, 4.4, and 5.9; the 5 km course has a water station at about mile 1.55. Gatorade may be available at some stations. Port-a-johns will be on site.
Results are posted live and final race results with series points are published the Monday after the race. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Walkers are welcome.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack Series and the Fall Series. The listed Back of the Pack time is 13:30; this designation is for series classification and is not a course cutoff. Awards include top 3 men and women overall and age group awards from 19 & Under through 70+. Top 3 overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards.
Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration is offered and t-shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations before Sept 23. Registration fees are listed with early rates through Sept 15 and increase thereafter; prices may increase on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
