Pleasants Landing Triathlon
The Pleasants Landing Triathlon takes place on October 10, 2026 at Pleasants Landing Marina on Lake Anna in Bumpass, Virginia. The event offers Olympic and Sprint race formats, with aquabike and relay options available.
- Olympic Triathlon: 1.5K swim; 24 mile bike; 10K run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim; 12.2 mile bike; 5K run
Swims use a time trial start with athletes entering from the south side of the transition area. The Olympic swim follows a triangular course and the sprint uses a rectangular course. Sighting buoys are placed roughly every 50 to 75 meters. The swim takes place in the southeast portion of Lake Anna, about a quarter mile from the hot to cold side channel, which typically produces water temperatures in the mid to upper 70s in mid October. A water temperature reading is posted the Thursday before the event.
Bike courses run on paved, low traffic roads with rolling terrain and lake views. The Olympic bike includes multiple loops; the sprint is a single loop. Run courses are out and back, leaving transition through a short woods and gravel section before returning to paved roads near fields, forest and the South Anna River.
The race is USA Triathlon sanctioned. Packet pickup is available the day before and the morning of the race. Parking at the venue is limited with additional off site parking about a quarter mile away. Registration benefits include a long sleeve tech shirt, custom socks, finisher medal, age group awards, post race food and free finish line photos.
