Platte River Half-Marathon & Relay
The Platte River Half-Marathon is an annual running event held in Littleton, Colorado, just outside the Denver Metro area. Running for over 21 years, it is recognized as a long-standing tradition in the local racing community. In 2026, the event serves as the RRCA Colorado State Half Marathon Championship.
The event offers three distinct participation options:
- Half-Marathon: A 13.1-mile individual race.
- Relay: A team-based version of the half-marathon for three-person teams.
- 5k: A shorter distance course introduced for the 2026 edition.
The course is a scenic out-and-back route that follows the Platte River Trail, featuring a total ascent of 300 feet. Participants travel through the municipalities of Littleton, Englewood, Sheridan, and Denver. The race begins and ends at the Reynold's Landing trailhead parking lot.
All finishers receive a long-sleeve tech-shirt, a finisher's medal, and a souvenir finisher's cup. A portion of the event proceeds is donated to the organization Salute Colorado. Following the race, a party is held at the nearby Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton, featuring live music, food trucks, and a beer garden.
