Planet NY Half Marathon, 10K, 5K
The Planet NY event takes place in Flushing Meadow Corona Park, centered around the Unisphere. The race provides participants with a tree-lined route that features views of the local park landmarks and the city skyline. All races follow a loop-based format within the park grounds.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The course for the Half Marathon consists of a 3.27-mile loop which athletes complete four times. For the 10K distance, runners complete two loops of approximately 3.1 miles each. Those participating in the 5K event complete a single loop of the same course. The event utilizes real-time chip timing for every loop, allowing for live tracking of performance and progress.
On-course support includes water stations stocked with gels, water, and electrolyte drinks. Public restrooms and portable toilets are positioned along the route. Amenities provided to participants include a technical T-shirt with the event logo and a die-cast finisher medal. Following the race, a selection of snacks is available, including freshly baked bagels with various spreads. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top three finishers in five-year age groups ranging from 14 to 65 and over.
