Plainfield Harvest Run 5k/10k & Kids Miler
The Plainfield Harvest Run is organized by the Plainfield-Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce and takes place in Village Green Park in Plainfield, Illinois. This long-standing community event is held annually and typically draws between 800 and 900 participants. The race site features various vendors and sponsors located throughout the park area.
The event offers several distances for participants:
- 10K Run (6.2 miles)
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- Kids Miler (1 mile)
The 10K Run has a specific time requirement, as participants must be able to complete the course within 1 hour and 15 minutes. The start and finish lines are located at Village Green Park, specifically at the corner of Fox River and Ottawa Streets. Following the races, an awards ceremony is held in the park, and a post-race gathering is hosted at a local venue in downtown Plainfield where participants can receive refreshments while supplies last.
Proceeds from the registration fees are distributed to non-profit organizations and groups within Plainfield and the surrounding areas. Packet pickup is available on the two days preceding the race at a local outfitter on Lockport Street, as well as on the morning of the event at the race grounds. Parking is available on the streets north and east of the park, at Plainfield Central High School, and at the Plainfield Area Public Library. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
