Plainfield American Legion 5K Charity Run : June 13, 2026
The event takes place in Plainfield, IL at the Plainfield American Legion, 24741 Renwick Rd. It includes the following races:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 50-meter Kid Dash
- 5K RUCK
This is an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the Plainfield American Legion. The route begins on River Rd at the west entrance, heads south, turns east on W Easy Street, north on Leawood Dr, east on Brittany St, north on Renwick Park Dr, then east onto the Fort Beggs Bike Trail to a turnaround just past W Fraser Rd before returning to the start/finish.
Logistics and fundraising
Packet pick up is at the Plainfield American Legion. Professional chip timing is provided by J3 Timing. Awards include overall and age-category recognition pins; the first 200 participants receive finisher medals. Parking is available at Plainfield Park District grounds (24550 West Renwick Road) and at Mather Woods (25032 West Renwick Rd); carpooling is suggested.
An after party at the American Legion will feature food trucks, two full-service bars, raffle baskets, a live band, vendors, a mechanical bull competition, and a motorcycle "bike corral" at the start/finish. Registration includes one free draft beer, one cocktail, or one fountain drink. A portion of registration fees and 100% of designated event and donation funds will be directed to a fallen Marine veteran's widow and newborn child.
