Pittston City Tomato Festival 5k Walk & Race
The Pittston City Tomato Festival 5K Walk & Race takes place in Pittston, Pennsylvania, as part of the annual local festival celebrations. Participants gather at a fitness center on South Main Street before moving through the course. The event is scheduled for the same morning as the Pittston Tomato Festival Parade, providing a festive atmosphere for athletes and walkers.
The event offers several participation options catering to different age groups and interests:
- 5k Run: A 3.1 mile timed race for participants aged 14 and over.
- 1 Mile Walk: A 1.5 mile non-timed walking event.
- Youth Run: A 1.5 mile race specifically for participants aged 7 to 13.
Pre-registered participants have the opportunity to pick up their packets on the Wednesday prior to the event at a designated location on South Main Street. Registration is also available on the day of the race. Early registrants who sign up during the month of July receive a moisture-wicking short-sleeve t-shirt as part of their entry fee. Those registering on the day of the event do not receive a shirt in the base price, though shirts may be available for separate purchase in limited sizes.
The 5k race features an age group breakdown starting from age 14 up to 60 and over. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female runners, as well as the top three male and female youth runners.
