Pitsea RC Crown to Crown : June (Race 3 of 7)
Pitsea Running Club stages a measured off-road 5K as the third race in the Crown to Crown 2026 series. The course is mainly on bridleways with some tarmac sections and follows a loop that starts on Beeleigh Avenue, passes along Lee Chapel Lane, goes through Essex Wildlife Trust’s Willow Park, and returns to Westley Heights Car Park. The start and finish are located at Westley Heights Country Park, at the rear of the Miller & Carter Crown public house.
Entry fees include online processing costs: adults affiliated to England Athletics clubs pay £2.50, unaffiliated adults £4.50, and ages 12–17 pay £1.50. Club affiliation alone is sufficient to receive the discount; individual EA registration is not required. On the day entries are available at the same prices.
The event will be run under UK Athletics rules with a TRA permit to be confirmed. Race rules include no under 12s, no dogs, no pushchairs, no headphones except bone conductive types, a single mass start for all age groups, and gun to finish timing rather than chips. Spikes are not suitable because of tarmac sections.
Facilities and safety provisions listed for the race include course marshals, a tail runner, first aid on course and at the finish, a defibrillator at the finish, and water at the finish. Parking is limited and may require a short walk from parking areas. If the event is cancelled for weather or landowner reasons, entries may be transferred to a later 2026 race or refunded minus processing fees.
