Pirate's Booty
Pirate's Booty is a community athletic event held in Geneva, Illinois. The race takes place at Old Mill Park on North Water Street. Participants follow a course along the Fox River Trail, with the event utilizing the same location for both the start and the finish lines. The Step By Step Running Club organizes the event, which also includes a fundraising component for those who wish to support the organization.
The event offers several distances and participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
- Kids Race (for ages 2-6)
For the younger participants in the Kids Race, the event provides a cotton race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and sunglasses. In the 5K and 10K categories, awards are presented to the top overall male and female runners. Additionally, first, second, and third place awards are distributed across various age groups. The 5K age brackets start from 10 and under up to 80 and over, while the 10K brackets begin at 14 and under.
Pre-race packet pick-up is available in the days leading up to the event at Dick Pond Athletics in St. Charles. On the day of the event, registration and packet collection are also facilitated at the park site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
