Pink Up the Pace 5K and Honor Walk
The Pink Up the Pace 5K and Honor Walk is an annual sporting event held in downtown Manhattan, Kansas. This event serves as a fundraiser for breast cancer research, with proceeds benefiting the Johnson Cancer Research Center. The event takes place on Poyntz Avenue and includes opportunities for both running and walking.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5 km run
- 1 mile Honor Walk
The race course starts in front of AJ’s Pizzeria and heads west along Poyntz Avenue. Runners continue toward Manhattan High School before turning around to return to the original starting area. The event recognizes competitive performance, awarding medals to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age division, in addition to two overall winners.
Registration is open to the public with tiered pricing based on the date of entry. Participants have two options for collecting their race packets. These can be picked up at the Manhattan Running Company prior to the event date or on the morning of the race at the downtown location. The event also offers opportunities for fundraising and volunteering to support the central cause. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
