Pink Platoon 5K
The Western North Carolina VA Health Care System hosts the second annual Pink Platoon 5K at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC on October 10, 2026. The event centers on breast cancer awareness and community support, and participants are encouraged to wear bright pink attire; tutus are specifically welcomed.
This family-friendly, community-focused event is free of cost and open to all ages. A Resource Fair will run alongside the 5K, offering VA and community resources related to wellness, education, and awareness. Registration is required to obtain a bib number and receive event updates; spots are limited to 200 runners.
Vehicle parking is available in the visitor parking area located after the main entrance on the left. The course is marked with cones, signs, and course marshals. Participants should stay alert for uneven surfaces, curbs, and changes in pavement on the VA Medical Center grounds. Pets are not permitted on the course. A hydration station will be available along the route, and participants are asked to move to the side if they need to stop so others can pass.
Because the medical center is an active hospital, participants should follow the instructions of course marshals and race staff while on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
