Pinhoti 100, Sylacauga AL
The Pinhoti 100 is a point to point trail run of 100 mile distance organized by Pinhoti Trail Races in Sylacauga, Alabama. The event is a Western States qualifier for Western States 2027 and has a 32 hour time limit for the 100 mile distance. Online entry is available and registration closes October 17; there is no race day registration, no entry transfers, and no deferrals. A full refund is available through March 28.
The course follows the Pinhoti single track and crosses the highest point in Alabama. Runners navigate rocks, creek crossings, and ridge lines within the Talladega National Forest. The route includes approximately 83 miles of single track, 17 miles of jeep road, and 2 miles of pavement, finishing at Lake Howard on the Sylaward Trail.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the Sylaward Trail Head and includes bibs, crew display cards, and drop bag collection. Bus transportation from Sylacauga to the start is offered for a fee. Parking attendants and designated parking areas are used at the start and finish. Restrooms and porta johns are provided at several locations along the course, and primitive camping is available at Lake Howard for a donation.
The race operates multiple staffed and water only aid stations with specified drop bag locations. Results will be posted online. Awards include top overall and age group recognition and all finishers of the 100 mile receive a buckle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
