Pineland Striders Independence Day Races
The Pineland Striders Independence Day Races take place on June 27, 2026 at Shawnee High School, 600 Tabernacle Road, Medford, NJ 08055. The event program includes a timed 10K, a timed 5K, and a free Kids Fun Run around the high school track.
Distances offered:
- 10K chip-timed road race with a short grass field section
- 5K chip-timed route entirely on pavement
- Kids Fun Run 0.25 miles, one lap around the track
The 10K and 5K are USATF-sanctioned and chip-timed. Both courses are described as fast and flat, and both finish on the track. On-course hydration and post-race refreshments are provided. The 10K and 5K are wheelchair and stroller friendly; dogs are not allowed. Cutoff times apply for the timed races.
Awards include overall first place male, female, and non-binary finishers for the 10K and 5K. Age-group awards are also given to top finishers across multiple age categories, with podium places for the first three in each listed category. All finishers receive a premium race giveaway, and the first registrants for the 10K and 5K will receive an additional giveaway.
Proceeds fund two scholarships for Shawnee High School student athletes, with remaining proceeds benefiting South Jersey Food Bank. Non-perishable food donations are accepted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
