Pineland Striders Independence Day Races
The event takes place at Shawnee High School, 600 Tabernacle Road, Medford, New Jersey. It features three distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- Kids Fun Run (0.25 miles)
The 10K and 5K are USATF sanctioned and chip timed. The 10K has a 2 hour 15 minute cutoff and the 5K has a 2 hour cutoff. Both courses are described as fast and flat; the 5K is entirely on pavement while the 10K includes a short stretch across grass athletic fields. Both races finish on the track. On-course hydration and post-race refreshments are provided. Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed on the 10K and 5K; dogs are not permitted.
All finishers receive a premium race giveaway. The first 300 registrants for the 10K and 5K receive a durable car seat cover towel in blue or red, with color choices honored at bib pickup while supplies last. Awards are given to overall male, female, and non-binary finishers in the 10K and 5K, with additional age group awards across multiple brackets from youth through 70 and older.
Proceeds support two scholarships for Shawnee High School student athletes and benefit the South Jersey Food Bank. Pre-registration closes June 24. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
