The PineappleMan Triathlon is a multi-division event held in Melbourne Beach and organized as a triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike on June 6, 2027. The event traces back to 1985 and is described as the oldest USAT sanctioned triathlon in Florida. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Community Center (507 Ocean Ave) and on race morning near Ryckman Park.
Course format and main distances are compact and local to the pier and nearby neighborhoods. The swim takes place around the Melbourne Beach Pier in the Indian River Lagoon. The bike is a 12-mile out-and-back route that includes a 4-mile straight section along A1A beside ocean-side parks and wildlife preserves. The run is a 3.1-mile (5K) loop through residential beach-side neighborhoods with water stations on course.
There are multiple divisions and awards, including Elite, Age Group, Adaptive, Athena, Clydesdale, Military/Law Enforcement/PSO, Fat Tire, Novice, Relay Teams, Aquabike, Duathlon, Duathlon Relay, and Non Competitive. Awards include top overall and age-group prizes, special-category awards, and Novice recognition. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Aquabike competitors’ times end at the transition entrance.
