Indian River Networks 40th Annual PineappleMan Triathlon/Duathlon
The event takes place in Melbourne Beach, Florida, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, centered at Ryckman Park and the historic Melbourne Beach Pier. Founded in 1985, the event is described as the oldest USAT-sanctioned triathlon in Florida. Packet pickup is offered the day before and the morning of the event at local venues in Melbourne Beach.
The program includes triathlon, aquabike and duathlon formats plus relay team options. Course formats and key distances are:
- Swim: 0.25 mile rectangle around the Melbourne Beach Pier
- Bike: 12 miles out-and-back with a 4 mile straight-away along A1A
- Run: 3.1 miles (5K) loop through residential beach-side neighborhoods
- Duathlon first run: 2 miles; second run: 3.1 miles
The aquabike option combines the same swim and bike courses; aquabike times end at the transition entrance. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Awards are offered across multiple categories, including overall male and female winners, masters, five-year age groups, Clydesdale and Athena divisions, novice, adaptive/physically challenged, military/law enforcement/public service, fat tire, and relay teams. Some divisions specify weight eligibility or team sizes. Novice awards list the top ten fastest males and females. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
