Indian River Networks PineappleMan Triathlon and Duathlon
The PineappleMan is an annual USAT sanctioned multisport event held in Melbourne Beach, Florida, organized by the Rotary Club of Melbourne Beach. The 40th edition was completed and the 41st edition is scheduled for Sunday, June 6, 2027, at Ryckman Park and the nearby Melbourne Beach Pier.
Race formats offered include triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike. Distances for each format are:
- Triathlon: Swim 0.25 mile, Bike 12 miles, Run 3.1 miles (5K)
- Duathlon: Run 2 miles, Bike 12 miles, Run 3.1 miles (5K)
- Aquabike: Swim 0.25 mile, Bike 12 miles
The swim takes place on a rectangle course around the historic Melbourne Beach Pier in the Indian River Lagoon. The bike is a 12 mile out-and-back route that includes a 4 mile straightaway along A1A beside ocean side parks and wildlife preserves. The run is a 3.1 mile loop through residential beachside neighborhoods with water stations at miles 1 and 2.
All finishers receive a finisher medal. The event offers participant amenities such as a cooked breakfast, beer for participants, pineapple awards, and finisher medals. Awards are given across multiple age groups and special categories for the triathlon, with top overall and masters honors, while duathlon and aquabike award top finishers. The event follows USA Triathlon membership and one day license rules. Race entries are non transferable and non refundable. Swim caps are provided and shirt sizes are guaranteed only to pre registered participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
