Pillsbury Push
The Pillsbury Push is a running event held in Kerkhoven, Minnesota, organized to support the Kerkhoven Park and Recreation Department. The event takes place at Pillsbury Park and offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 5K
- 10K
The 5K course consists of flat, paved roads through the city. The 10K course features a mix of surfaces, including mostly paved roads, approximately 1.5 miles of mowed grass on a golf course, and a short section of gravel road. Water stops are located every few miles along the route. The 10K race is a designated part of the Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series.
Participants have the option to include a commemorative T-shirt with their registration for an additional fee. This item is guaranteed for those who complete their registration by the specific deadline in early July. The event coincides with the Kerkhoven Town and Country Days, which provides various activities following the races. These include a flea market, children's games, a tractor pull, kiddie rides, and a parade.
Awards are presented following the conclusion of the races. Recognition is given across numerous age divisions for both men and women, starting from age 10 and under up to ages 85 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
