Pilgrim's Reckoning
Pilgrim's Reckoning is an 81 mile ultra run along the Bunyan Way in Bedfordshire. The event is organised as a single continuous loop with 24 hours to complete the route. The concept is inspired by the landscapes behind John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress and frames the event as a progressive endurance journey.
The course is described as runnable with no technical sections, a few gentle hills and long stretches of open countryside. The route links village churches and passes through quiet communities and open ground. Elevation gain for the route is 1,219 metres and the event carries a 100km UTMB index score.
Support on the course includes seven fully stocked aid stations, a drop bag at the halfway point and live tracking. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a T shirt. Participant safety is addressed through comprehensive medical cover provided throughout the event by A 2 E Medical Services. Organisers require participants to carry specific kit at all times and may conduct random kit checks.
