Pigtails Run #21 (12/12/2026)
Pigtails Run #21 takes place in Maple Valley, Washington, at the Cedar to Green River Trail entrance. The race emphasizes a low key, low support, low cost format and offers multiple distances on paved trail with some dirt, gravel, and sections of crushed rock.
Distances
- Half Marathon about 13.1 miles on an out and back
- Marathon double out and back on the same route
- 50K extended out and back to the Belmondo's Reach turnaround
The course is mostly paved blacktop with portions of dirt, gravel, and over six miles of crushed rock. Turnarounds and intersections are marked with ribbon and some chalk paint; runners are advised to use GPS. A manned aid station provides water, electrolyte drink, chips, candy, cookies, and refilling for bottles. The main start finish aid offers additional items such as soup and chocolate milk. Runners should carry most of their own fuel and pack out trash.
Registration fees are kept low and vary by distance and registration period; UltraSignup fees apply. Transfers incur a fee and an optional refund plan is available through the registration service. Timing uses an online system and results are posted on the race registration site within about 30 hours.
Parking is available near the start area. Dogs are not allowed on the course and strollers are discouraged because of trail surface. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
