The Piedmont Goes Red 5K is a running event held in Demorest, Georgia. It takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

- Piedmont Goes Red Virtual 5K
Course
The 5K course starts and finishes at Swanson Theatre on the campus of Piedmont College. The route goes through the campus and adjacent neighborhoods. Parking is available at Swanson Theatre. The course is described as fairly challenging with several hills.
Purpose
The event celebrates the 27th anniversary of the R.H. Daniel School of Nursing during American Heart Month. It is also a fundraiser to begin a Nursing Student Success Fund, which helps nursing students cover costs associated with their program.
Schedule and Amenities
Race day registration and packet pickup begin at 7:00 AM. The 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM, followed by the 5K at 8:30 AM. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 AM. A t-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by February 10, 2026.
Awards
Awards are presented to Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and age group winners. Age groups are in five-year increments from 10 and Under to 80 and Over.
Additional Information
A virtual option allows participants to run 3.1 miles anywhere and submit a finish time. Virtual runners are not eligible for race day awards or t-shirts. The event is a member of the Black Bag Race Series and the Clover Glove Race Series. Finish line management and timing are provided by Classic Race Services.
