Event overview
The Piedmont Goes Red 5K takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Demorest, Georgia. The event marks the 27th anniversary of the R.H. Daniel School of Nursing and will begin a Nursing Student Success Fund to help nursing students cover program-related costs. The event includes the following options:
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 5K
- Virtual 5K
Each event has a listed entry fee of $25. Registration prices increase after February 10, 2026. Virtual registration closes February 25, 2026. Virtual runners must be registered as virtual entrants and are not eligible for race day awards or t-shirts.
Course and logistics
The 5K course starts and finishes at Swanson Theatre on the Piedmont College campus and runs through campus and adjacent neighborhoods. Plenty of parking is available at Swanson Theatre. The course includes several hills.
T-shirts are guaranteed for participants who registered by February 10, 2026; shirts are not guaranteed for later registrants. Timing and finish-line management are provided by Classic Race Services. No refunds are offered due to inclement weather.
Awards
Awards are given for Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and male/female age groups in 5-year increments from "10 and Under" up to "80 and Over." Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
