Pie Day Pi K in Durham, NC
Pie Day Pi K is a 3.14 kilometer (1.95 mile) race held on March 14 at C.M. Herndon Park in Durham, NC. The event is part of the Triangle Race Series and offers both an in-person race and a Virtual Race option; virtual participants have until the end of March to complete the distance and submit a time.
Participants receive a race bib with a pull-tag used to claim a personal pie after the race. A disposable timing chip is attached to the back of the bib and should not be folded or removed. Race timing and results are provided by Precision Race. Finish line photos are available with race results and can be downloaded with no fee. Results can be delivered by text for those who requested it at pre-registration, viewed online, or accessed through the ItsYourRace mobile app.
Runners each receive a freshly baked personal crostata prepared by a local James Beard Pastry Chef Award nominee, with choices of apple or chocolate sea salt. A long-sleeved "Equations" collectable shirt in ash color is available for an additional fee and must be ordered by March 1 for guaranteed availability. Registration fee levels are tiered by date: $31 through 12/31, $34 from 1/1 until 2/29, and $37 from 3/1 to 3/17.
