Picture Me In A Tree : event summary and practical information
Fundraiser held at 1042 Sherman Belcher Rd, Centreville, Nova Scotia, with net proceeds applied to maintenance, repairs and new projects at the Centreville Community Park.
Distances offered:
- 5 km run and walk
- 10 km run
- 6 hour timed run
Field limited to the first 125 registered participants with per-event limits. Minimum ages: 12 years for the 5 km and 10 km events, 16 years for the 6 hour event. Registration fees vary by event and registration period; Race Roster fees apply.
Course and race logistics: roughly 80% shaded trail composed of about 70% compacted dust/gravel, 15% gravel track and 15% natural trail or groomed grass. Each loop is 2.5 km with approximately 11 meters of elevation per loop; 500 meter sections are marked. Trail passing: walkers keep right, runners pass left. Lap recording is manual; 5 km participants receive two numbered sticks and 10 km participants four sticks to drop at each 2.5 km completion. All finishers receive a crafted finisher medallion with name and event engraved on the back. Overall top male, female and non-binary finishers in the 5 km run, 10 km run and 6 hour run receive additional awards; the 5 km walking division is not eligible for overall awards.
Event services and rules include an aid station with water and Gatorade, a cupless refill system so participants should bring a personal bottle or cup, first aid at the start/finish, indoor washrooms, parking options with a short walk from an alternate lot, no dogs or bicycles allowed on the course, prize draws requiring presence, and a photo opportunity at a hollow tree stump located about 1.4 km into the course. If the organizer cancels the scheduled date, the event will be rescheduled for the following weekend; partial refunds are available under specified conditions.
