Picnic Run
The Picnic Run is an annual athletic event held in Brookville, Ohio. Sponsored by the Brookville Baseball Club, the event takes place in conjunction with the Brookville Community Picnic. The 2026 edition marks the 34th year of this local tradition. Participants can choose between two distinct event distances:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 5k course utilizes a route consisting of country roads and city streets. For the convenience of the participants, there is one water stop located along the path. The Fun Run course is contained entirely within the grounds of Golden Gate Park, providing a self-contained environment for runners.
All participants are provided with breakfast as part of the event. Packet pick-up is organized at Golden Gate Park on the morning of the races. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the 5k event, with further recognition for the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 12 and under to 70 and up. For those participating in the Fun Run, ribbons are provided to all participants, and medals are awarded to the top three boys and girls.
