About the race
Pi Day 5k in Lansing is scheduled for March 13, 2027 at Hawk Island Park, 1601 E Cavanaugh Rd, Lansing, MI 48910. The event raises funds for Impression 5 Science Center’s scholarship program to increase access to exhibits and experiences for children and families.
The event program includes multiple in person and virtual races across a few distances:
- 3.1 miles : standard 5k distance
- 6.2 miles : 10k distance
- 3.1 miles (virtual) : mailed shirt and medal option
- 3.1 miles and 6.2 miles for youth : events intended for youths 13 years old or younger
- No Frills 3.1 miles : no shirt, no medal option
Registration fees vary by event and by registration window. Early bird 5k and 10k pricing is listed at $30; later registration fees increase, and a virtual 5k option is priced at $50 and includes shipping. Kids pricing and a reduced no-frills price are available during early registration. Registrations received by January 31, 2027 are eligible for guaranteed shirt sizing.
All finishers receive a medal and participants receive a race t-shirt and a slice of pie. Placement pins are awarded to first, second and third overall finishers. Age group categories are Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus. Timing is by chip and results are published live with individual chip times.
