Pi Day 5k: a 3.14 Miler
The Pi Day 5k: a 3.14 Miler takes place on March 14, 2026 at Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Michigan. This is the fifth annual edition of the event and it raises funds for the Impression 5 Science Center scholarship program, which increases access to exhibits and experiences for children and families.
The event offers multiple distance options:
- 5k in person
- 10k labeled 2 Pi
- 5k virtual
- Kids 5k
- Kids 10k and Kids virtual 5k
All in-person participants receive a race t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a complimentary slice of pie provided by Grand Traverse Pie Company. First place overall winners are offered a full pie or a Playmakers gift card, and top finishers receive a future race registration discount. The virtual 5k includes a mailed shirt and medal; there are no placement awards for virtual entries.
The course is an out-and-back that starts at the southwest corner of the Red Tail Shelter. Early packet pickup is available at Playmaker's in Okemos; day-of packet pickup and check in occur at Hawk Island Park. Parking fees are applied at checkout and park entry requires showing registration confirmation or a race bib. Chip timing is provided and results are posted live and sent by text.
