Event overview
The Pi Day 5k: a 3.14 Miler is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Hawk Island Park, 1601 E Cavanaugh Rd, Lansing, MI 48910. The event is the fifth annual Pi Day 5k and raises funds for the Impression 5 Science Center scholarship program. All participants receive a race t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a slice of pie from Grand Traverse Pie Company. Age groups are: Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.

Entry fees follow tiered pricing: early bird $30 until November 15, 2025; $40 from November 16, 2025 through February 28, 2026; late registration $45 from March 1 through March 14, 2026. The virtual 5k fee is $45 and includes shipping; virtual registration closes March 13, 2026. Check-in on race day begins at 8:00 AM at the Red Tail Pavilion. Parking fees are added during registration and require showing confirmation or a race bib on park entry. The course starts at the southwest corner of the Red Tail Shelter and is an out-and-back route. Chip timing is provided by Michigan Running Foundation; accurate chip time and current placements are texted to participants and posted live. No-shows forfeit the shirt and medal.
