Event overview
The Pi Day 5k: a 3.14 Miler is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Michigan (1601 E Cavanaugh Rd, 48910). The event benefits the Impression 5 Science Center scholarship program. All in-person participants receive a t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a slice of pie from Grand Traverse Pie Company. Results use chip timing and are provided live on the event site and by text; timing is done by Michigan Running Foundation.

Entry fees, deadlines and logistics
Early bird registration was $30 through November 15, 2025; standard registration is $40 from November 16, 2025 through February 28, 2026; late registration is $45 from March 1 through March 14, 2026. Kids events are priced between $20 and $25. Registrations received by February 21, 2026 guarantee shirt size. Virtual 5k registration is $45 and includes shipping; virtual registration closes March 13, 2026, with mailed kit dates noted for registrations on or before March 8 and after March 8.
Packet pick up is available the day before at Playmaker's in Okemos and on race morning at the Red Tail Pavilion. A park parking fee is added at checkout and credentials or bib must be shown for park entry.
Course, awards and extras
The course starts at the southwest corner of the Red Tail Shelter and is an out-and-back route. Age groups run from Under 14 up to 80+. Top finishers receive placement awards and discounts on future events; all finishers receive medals. A 5x Runners Club recognizes participants who have completed five Pi Day events.
