Hampshire - Independence Weekend Run Day 2
Phoenix Running Hampshire is staging a timed, multi-lap road running event on Sunday 05 July 2026 in Winchester along The Itchen Way. The course is a professionally measured out-and-back route that crosses Hockley Viaduct and holds a Road Permit.
Entry options and format
- 2.62 mile out-and-back lap.
- Participants may complete as many laps as they wish within a seven hour event window.
- Five laps equal a half marathon, ten laps equal a marathon, eleven or more laps count as an ultra.
Event features and services The event has an American theme and fancy dress is encouraged. Trophies will be awarded for Best Dressed, Funniest Costume, and Most Patriotic. An aid station will provide sweet and savoury items including the organiser’s signature potatoes, with vegan options available. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher's medal.
Location and parking The event base is Garnier Road Car Park, Winchester, with additional parking at St. Catherine's Park & Ride a short 3 to 4 minute walk away. Park and ride postcode for parking is SO23 9NP. Parking charges apply on Saturdays and are free on Sundays; payment options include Ringo (location code 2547) or contactless.
