Alresford 10k
The Alresford 10k is a road race held in Arlebury Park, Alresford, Hampshire. The route runs through the market town, past local watercress beds and into surrounding countryside; roughly half the course is an out-and-back section and there are some hills. The start and finish are at Arlebury Park where toilets, a baggage area and limited changing facilities will be available.
Children’s fun runs are organised by Sun Hill School for participants aged up to 11 years; money raised from the fun runs goes to Sun Hill Junior School. The event is supported by local businesses that sponsor elements of the race and donate prizes.
To reduce waste the organisers are not including T-shirts or medals in the entry fee; they are exploring locally sourced finishers’ goodies. Runners are asked to use reusable drinks bottles and refill from water at Arlebury Park; there will be a water point on the route. Prizes will be awarded to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd man and woman, plus 1st place in five-year age bands.
Running clubs may set up banners and club hubs on the park field. Parking is available at Perins School and the Watercress Line station in Alresford, with limited on-street parking in the town. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
