Event Overview
The Alresford 10k is a road race held in the market town of Alresford, Hampshire. The course begins and ends at Arlebury Park, taking participants through the town, past local watercress beds, and into the surrounding countryside. Approximately half of the route consists of an out and back section, and the course features hilly terrain.
Distances available at this event include:
- 10 km road race for participants aged 15 and over.
- Children's fun runs for those aged up to 11 years old.
The start and finish area at Arlebury Park provides essential facilities, including toilets, a baggage area, and limited changing facilities. Running clubs are permitted to bring banners and establish club hubs on the park field. To lower the environmental impact, the event does not provide medals or T-shirts. Instead, finishers receive locally sourced items, such as cookies from a nearby cafe.
Participants are requested to bring their own reusable water bottles, which can be filled at Arlebury Park or at a dedicated water point along the route. Parking is available at Perins School and the Watercress Line station, though organizers encourage car sharing, public transport, walking, or cycling. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in age group categories spaced in five-year intervals.
