Event Details

This event is a timed running event held along The Itchen Way in Winchester, Hampshire. It is a timed event where participants can run for up to 7 hours.

Course and Format

The course is an out-and-back route along The Itchen Way, crossing the Hockley Viaduct. It is described as a beautiful, smooth path. The event has a Road Permit. Participants do not need to choose a distance in advance. Each lap is 2.62 miles. Participants can run one lap or multiple laps within the 7-hour window:

  • One lap is 2.62 miles.
  • Five laps is a half marathon.
  • Ten laps is a marathon.
  • Eleven or more laps qualifies as an ultramarathon. Everyone who completes at least one lap receives a finisher's medal.

Start Times and Logistics

The official start time is 08:00, but participants can start any time up to 13:00. The course closes at 15:00. The event is based at the Garnier Road Car Park. The designated parking location is the St. Catherine's Park & Ride (postcode SO23 9NP), a short walk away. Parking charges apply on Saturdays (£3.50/day or £1.80/3 hours), but parking is free on Sundays. Payment can be made via the Ringo app (location code 2547) or by contactless payment.
