Event overview
The South Wales - St David's Day Run takes place in Cardiff Bay on Sunday 1 March 2026. The event uses a timed, lap-based format on an out-and-back course of 5.3 km (3.28 miles) per lap. Participants may run multiple laps to achieve a distance from a single lap up to ultra distance within a 7-hour time limit. The minimum distance is one lap (3.28 miles).

Course and logistics
The course starts and finishes at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Harbour Drive, Cardiff Bay (postcode CF10 4PA). The route runs along Cardiff Bay past the Barrage Control Centre viewpoint, the Senedd and Pierhead Building, through the plaza to the Wales Millennium Centre and Torchwood Tower, then back to the Norwegian Church. The surface is tarmac or pavement with one short wooden boardwalk. Each lap has about 23 m elevation gain and loss. Parking is available at The Lock Keepers Cottage car park (24 hours); on-street parking on Harbour Drive is limited to three hours.
Entry options
Standard entries include a finishers medal. A trial "no medal" entry is offered at a flat £20 and excludes the physical medal but includes race support, aid station, same-day results, athlete profiles, digital BIBs, and digital finishers certificates.
