Girls on the Run Philadelphia 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Philadelphia 5K is an end of season celebratory event that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. Each participant in the program receives a commemorative medal at the finish to mark completion of the course.
The event is scheduled for December 6, 2026 at The Philadelphia Navy Yard, 4747 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19112. The 5K course is 3.1 miles and is presented as a noncompetitive, celebratory run where participants may walk, run, roll, push, or skip at their own pace. Typical finish times referenced range from about 25 minutes for the fastest participants to 30–50 minutes for most participants.
Community runners and running buddies register for a fee, with listed prices of $30 for community runners and running buddies and $25 for youth community runners. Program participants and coaches are already registered through the council and do not need to register separately. All registrants must sign a liability waiver.
The course and event areas are accessible to people with disabilities, with designated parking and an accessible porta-potty at the Celebration Village. Service animals are permitted; other pets are not allowed. Safety measures include required race bibs, assigned running buddies for participants, course monitoring, and a council safety plan. The event includes music, games, crafts, merchandise for sale, and relies on volunteers for many operational roles.
