Elf 'N' Cocoa 8K/5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The Elf 'N' Cocoa event is held at the Riverwinds Community Center in West Deptford, New Jersey. This annual holiday race offers three distinct distances on a paved course that features waterfront areas providing views of Philadelphia. The event functions as a fundraiser for the HEADstrong Foundation.
Participants can choose from several scheduled distances:
- 8K Run
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run
The 8K and 5K races are chip-timed with live results. Awards are provided for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under up to 70 and over. Walkers are permitted to participate in the 5K distance. All finishers in these categories receive a medal and a custom cocoa mug.
The 1 Mile Kids Fun Run is a non-timed event designed for children aged 14 and under. Registered children receive a finisher medal and an Elf ‘N’ Cocoa beanie. A parent may accompany their child during the one mile run without individual registration.
Post-race activities include a cup of hot cocoa from Death of the Fox Coffee House for all registered participants and a party featuring a DJ playing holiday music. A food truck is present on-site selling donuts and coffee. Professional race and party photos are available for free download following the event.
