Pharmathon 5K Overview
The Ohio State Pharmacy Alumni Society Pharmathon 5K is an annual event held at The Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio. Established in 2015, this event is a collaborative effort between the Pharmacy Alumni Society Governing Board and the College of Pharmacy students, with production assistance provided by the Columbus Running Company.
Participants can choose from multiple event formats:
- 5K Run/Walk (Timed)
- 1.5-Mile Fun Run/Walk (Untimed)
- Kids Fun Run (100m)
- Virtual 5K and 1.5-Mile options
The in-person routes consist of a 5K or 1.5-mile trek around the university grounds, with the start located at the Ohio State University RPAC building on West 17th Avenue. The Kids Fun Run is a brief 100-meter event specifically intended for participants aged 8 and under.
The event focuses on promoting health and wellness while providing education on the prevention of prescription drug misuse. Proceeds are utilized by the Pharmacy Alumni Society Governing Board and the College of Pharmacy Generation Rx program to support awareness and education regarding safe medication-taking practices.
A virtual participation option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Materials for virtual participants are mailed prior to the event date for those who complete registration by early April. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
