Event overview
The World Diabetes Day Run takes place on Friday 14 November 2025 at Stanley Park, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY3 9EQ. Entry fees are £23.50 for affiliated runners and £25.50 for unattached runners. All profits from the event will be donated to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF). The event is a timed 6 hour run with a maximum of 100 entrants and a minimum age of 18 years. Entries close on 13 November 2025. Refunds are not permitted; entries may be transferred or deferred up to one week before the event.
Course, distances and race rules
The course is a 3.1 mile loop on mainly flat tarmac paths with a short section on gravel. Runners may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the 6 hour time limit. Distances described on the course include:
- 3.1 mile loop
- Half marathon: 4 laps plus a short out-and-back
- Marathon: 8 laps plus a short out-and-back
- Ultra: 9+ laps
Participants who complete at least one lap will be classed as finishers and receive an official time, a post-race gift, and a bespoke medal. Drinks and sweet and savoury snacks will be provided on course. Age limits for maximum distances: 18-19 years - maximum distance marathon; over 20 years - no maximum distance.
