Event details

The Granny's Bay Challenge is scheduled for Sunday, 8 March 2026 in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire. The event is limited to 100 entrants. Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £28 and Unattached £30. Entries close on 7 March 2026. Refunds are not permitted. Transfers or deferrals are allowed up to one week before the event.

Course and format

The course is a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary, starting at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial and following the coast path past Fairhaven Lake, Granny's Bay and Lytham Green. Landmarks visible from the route include Lytham windmill and views across the estuary. The basic lap distance is 5.24 miles and the event is run as a multi-lap challenge within a 6 hour time limit. As long as a participant completes one lap they will be recorded as a finisher and receive an official time and a medal.

Rules and eligibility

All participants must be at least 18 years old. Runners aged 18 to 19 may compete up to marathon distance. Those aged 20 and over have no maximum distance.
