Granny's Bay Challenge
The Granny's Bay Challenge returns for its sixth year in the seaside town of Lytham. It takes place on Sunday 14 March 2027 at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial, Inner Promenade, Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire FY8 1EQ. Entry fees are listed as £30 for affiliated runners and £32 for unaffiliated runners.
The course is a 5.24 mile loop on a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary. The route joins the new coast path, passes Fairhaven Lake, goes by Granny's Bay and runs onto Lytham Green. Runners have views of Lytham windmill to the left and views across the estuary towards Southport and North Wales before returning to the Spitfire Memorial.
Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within a six hour time limit; the time limit is a maximum not a target. Completing at least one lap results in an official time and a finisher medal.

- 5.24 mile lap on flat tarmac path
- Marathon requires five laps
- Half marathon equals two full laps plus a 2.62 mile loop
All participants must be over 18. Runners aged 18 to 19 may run up to marathon distance; runners aged 20 and over have no maximum distance. The event is held under UK Athletics rules.
