Event overview
The Granny's Bay Challenge is a timed running event held in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire on Sunday 8 March 2026. The event is a 6-hour timed challenge with a maximum of 100 entrants. Entry fees are listed as £28 for affiliated runners and £30 for unattached runners. Entries close on 7 March 2026. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and will operate with a Trail Running Association race permit (number TBA). All participants must be at least 18 years old; 18-19 year olds may run up to a marathon distance, while over-20s have no maximum distance.
Course and distances
The course is a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary, starting and finishing at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial. The route passes Fairhaven Lake, Granny's Bay and Lytham Green, with views of Lytham windmill and across the estuary towards Southport and North Wales. Runners reach a turn point at the end of Lytham Green before returning to the memorial.

- Half marathon is two full laps plus a 2.62 mile loop
As long as a runner completes one lap they receive an official time and a medal.
