Granny's Bay Challenge

Granny's Bay Challenge is an annual running event held in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire on Sunday 14 March 2027. Entry fees are listed as £30 affiliated and £32 un-affiliated. The event is organised under UK Athletics rules and will operate with a Trail Running Association race permit number to be confirmed.

The course uses a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary, starting at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial and following the new coast path. The route passes Fairhaven Lake, Granny's Bay and Lytham Green, with views of Lytham windmill and across the estuary toward Southport and North Wales. The course can be completed as an out and back or as a loop.

Runners may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within a six hour time limit; the limit is a maximum rather than a target. A single lap completion qualifies as a finisher and earns an official time and a medal.

Age restrictions require all participants to be over 18. Competitors aged 18 to 19 may run up to the marathon distance; participants aged 20 and over have no maximum distance.
