Event details
The Granny's Bay Challenge takes place on Sunday, 8 March 2026 in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire. The event is organised by Preston, Fylde & Wyre Running and is limited to 100 entrants. Entry fees are listed as £28 affiliated and £30 unattached. Entries close 7 March 2026. The event is a 6 hour timed event held under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association race permit number to be advised. Refunds are not permitted; entries may be transferred or deferred up to one week before the event.
Course and participation
The course is a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary, starting and finishing at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial and passing Fairhaven lake, Granny's Bay and Lytham green. Reported course distance is 5.24 miles for the out-and-back/loop. Runners may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the 6 hour limit. - Marathon - 5 laps
- Half marathon - 2 full laps plus a short 2.62 mile loop As long as a participant completes one lap they are recorded as a finisher and receive an official time and a medal. Minimum entry age is 18; ages 18-19 may race up to marathon distance, and over-20s have no maximum distance.
