The course includes tree-lined paths through Haslam Park, where the route circles a lake before returning to the canal.
The event offers several distance options based on the looping course:
- 5 km: A single loop of the course.
- 10 km: Two full loops of the course.
- Half Marathon: Four loops plus a short out-and-back section.
- Marathon: Eight loops plus a short out-and-back section.
- Ultra: As many laps as desired within a six-hour time limit.
The terrain consists of both off-road and paved surfaces with undulating sections. Participants have access to various facilities at the UCLAN sports arena, including changing rooms, toilets, showers, a cafe, and free parking. The route is fully marked, and medical cover is provided for the duration of the event. On-course refreshments include water, cordial, coke, and various sweet and savoury snacks.
Registration is limited to 100 entrants, and all participants must be at least 18 years of age. For runners aged 18 to 19, the maximum distance permitted is the marathon.
