Brockholes Bimble
Brockholes Bimble is a multi-distance trail event held at Brockholes Nature Reserve in Samlesbury, Preston, PR5 0AG on Friday 8 May 2026. The reserve is owned by the Wildlife Trust, covers 250 acres, and includes lakes, the River Ribble, woodlands and the UK's first floating visitor centre. Two pounds from every entry will be donated to Brockholes nature reserve for upkeep of the paths.
Distances and entry fees:
- 10K: £22 affiliated, £24 unattached
- Half marathon: £26 affiliated, £28 unattached
- Marathon: £30 affiliated, £32 unattached
- Ultra: £36 affiliated, £38 unattached
The course runs on paths around the reserve, passing several lakes and woodland. The 10K is one lap plus a short out and back, the half marathon is three laps, and the marathon is six laps. The ultra is as many laps as a runner wishes within a six hour limit; the last lap must be started within 5 hours 15 minutes.
Participants receive sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke, plus a bespoke medal and post run goodies. All participants must be over 18. Runners aged 18 to 19 may run up to marathon distance; runners aged 20 and over have no maximum distance. Trail Running Association race permit number 8050 applies.
