Event Overview
The PFW Running - Brockholes Bimble takes place within the 250-acre grounds of the Brockholes Nature Reserve in Preston, a site owned by The Wildlife Trust. The reserve is known for its birdlife, other wildlife, and features the UK's first floating visitor centre.
Course Details
The event is a trail run on the reserve's paths. The course passes by several lakes, the River Ribble, and through woodlands.
- 10k: 1 lap plus a short out-and-back section.
- Half Marathon: 3 laps.
- Marathon: 6 laps.
- Ultra: Runners complete as many laps as they wish within a 6-hour time limit, with the final lap needing to start within 5 hours and 30 minutes.
The route is fully marked, and medical cover is provided. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and has a Trail Running Association Race Permit.
Event Day
Participants can expect sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial, and cola. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-run goodies.
Practical Information
The event is part of a three-day series, and runners can enter one, two, or all three days. The maximum number of entrants is 100. The minimum age for participation is 18.
- Runners aged 18-19 are limited to a maximum distance of the marathon.
- Runners aged 20 and over have no maximum distance limit.
Refunds are not permitted. Runners can transfer or defer their entry up to one week prior to the event date by emailing the organiser. Entries can also be transferred to another runner up to one week prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
