Petzl Night Trails 10K - Coombe Abbey
The event is a 10 km night trail run at Coombe Abbey Park, Coventry. The venue is on the outskirts of Coventry with parking on site that can cost up to £3 for 1 to 2 hours and a toilet block next to the event HQ. The closest train station is Coventry and the park is about six minutes from Junction 2 of the M6.
Participants must use a head or chest torch to run; a torch is required to take part. Petzl will attend with demo kit for participants to try. Dogs are not permitted because the course includes a narrower out and back section.
The course runs through woodland, meadow and grass fields. Surface conditions will vary with weather and may be muddy or firm. Runners should expect exposed tree roots, uneven surfaces and a few gates to navigate. The route is described as undulating but not hilly.
The event uses a tiered pricing approach and does not add a booking fee; unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. Biodegradable cups with water or electrolyte will be available on course, and collapsible cups are allowed but not required. There is an effective cut off of about two hours based on medic cover and sunset considerations.
The organiser supports Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and offers an option to set up fundraising or make a donation. An Earth Runs tree token is offered as an alternative to a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
