Event overview
Petzl Night Trails 10K at Salcey Forest takes place on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. The event is a trail race of 10k, run as a two-lap course that is fully marked. A head or chest torch is required to take part; participation is not permitted without a torch. Petzl will attend with demo head torches at the event. A canicross option is included; canicross runners start 10 minutes before the main field in a mass start and must enter the canicross race separately.
Course, facilities and entry
The route is primarily on crushed stone with tree detritus; ground conditions will vary with the weather and can become slippery or muddy. Salcey Forest is described as fundamentally flat. The venue is a Forestry Commission site near Northampton with a cafe and toilets, and the postcode NN7 2HX is given for sat navs. Parking requires a fee; a special evening parking rate of £3.50 is noted. Water and electrolyte aid is provided on course in biodegradable cups, and hot drinks are available before and after the race. Entry fees are tiered: £16 before 24/02/2026 and £21 after that date; unaffiliated entrants pay an additional £2. Finishers receive a medal and goodies, or an alternative Big Bear Tree Token that corresponds to a tree being planted and contains wildflower seeds.
